The Best Oatmeal Raisin Cookies of All Time!

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Oatmeal raisin is my favorite cookie of all time! Over the years I think I have just about perfected the recipe, and wanted to share! I also included 3 ways to put a spin on this classic

Here is what you will need before you get started:

· 2 mixing bowls (medium, large)

· Cookie Sheet

· 1 cup (one stick) plus 6 tbs unsalted softened butter

· 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar

· ½ cup brown sugar

· 1 teaspoon vanilla

· 2 eggs

· 1 ½ cups all- purpose flour

· 1 teaspoon baking soda

· Cinnamon to taste (about 1 teaspoon)

· Dash of salt (optional)

· 1 cup raisins

· 3 cups of raw uncooked oats

· Optional: peanut butter, chocolate chips, 100% cacao dark

Chocolate powder, 13x9 metal baking pan

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 370 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and oats.

2. In a medium bowl beat butter and sugars with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.

3. Combine with dry ingredients and mix well. Add in raisins and mix again!

4. Drop dough in rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

5. Bake 8-10 minutes ( I always bake for 8 minutes but every oven is different) until edges are slightly golden. Let cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Transfer to wire cooling rack and let cool completely.

6. Enjoy!!!

Put your own twist on it!

PB&J Cookies: add peanut butter in step three, keep the raisins, add chocolate, or ditch the mix-ins all together because peanut butter is amazing on its own!

Double Dark Chocolate: replace the raisins with semi-sweet baking chocolate chips, add 100% cacao dark chocolate powder in step three

Make them into cookie bars: bake any of these recipes in a 13 x 9 metal baking pan for 25-25 minutes

Eat them with a glass of cold coconut or oat milk for a delicious treat!

If you make my recipe, please share it with me by following my Instagram @_sincerelylovely, posting a pic or story, and tagging me. I would love to see what you come up with!
