Honeymooning on Playa Largo in the Florida Keys

Updated: Apr 30

It's been about a year, but I am finally able to write this post about my honeymoon. It was honestly my favorite part about the entire wedding!

We went on our honeymoon to Playa Largo an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, a luxury resort located on Key Largo the first island in the gorgeous Florida Keys. We were looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway, and Playa Largo did not disappoint. We also wanted a getaway that was within driving distance of our home on Marco Island so that we could leave right after our wedding.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. We were then escorted to our room, which was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Our room had a balcony with a stunning view of the gardens and the ocean just beyond them.

One night we decided to get dressed up and order room service to enjoy a private romantic dinner on our balcony.

The resort had several restaurants and bars, and we had some of the best meals of our lives there. We woke up early every morning just to have the complementary full service breakfast!

All the seafood was fresh and delicious. We especially enjoyed the beachfront restaurant, Sol by the Sea, where we had a romantic dinner under the stars to celebrate our one week anniversary.

One of our favorite activities at Playa Largo was lounging by the pool. The resort gifted us with a cabana for our honeymoon and we spent the entire day relaxing, eating, and napping by the pool while taking the occasional dip in the ocean.

The resort was luxurious, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. We would highly recommend Playa Largo to anyone looking for a romantic and relaxing vacation in the Florida Keys.

As a special surprise, my husband planned a different adventure for us on each of the islands that make up The Keys. The islands are easily drivable and there is so much to do!

The Florida Keys truely have my heart. Not only do they offer a beautiful and unique tropical paradise with crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, and are just such a vibe, but they are also the place where my husband and I fell even deeper in love.
