Good Molecules Product Review

Updated: May 23, 2021

As you may know, skincare is very important to me and I love to be able to use my platform to share new products with you! Recently I was sent some amazing new skincare products to test/try from a company I had not yet heard of. I get quite a few of these emails daily and honestly, the products seldom align with my brand or skincare needs, and aren't products that I would ever actually buy. So I definitely wouldn't want to recommend them to you! When I did some further research into Good Molecules, I started to get excited because not only are the products at a great price, but the ingredients looked so simple and amazing! I also liked that they have several different skincare routines based on diverse skincare needs. I reached back out excited to try the new products and let them know my skincare needs (dry/ dehydrated skin, sensitivity, redness, large pores). I feel like the products I got are perfect for ( and have been) addressing these needs!

*This is not a sponsored post, I did receive these products as a gift, however, Good Molecules did not ask me to write or post anything about the products. I just really enjoyed them and wanted to share my personal opinion of the products/company with you! :)

These are the products I received:

Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Niacinamide Brightening Toner

Silicone- Free Priming Moisturizer

Clarity and Cleanse Bar

Stone Soap Tray

Hyaluronic Acid Serum

The first product I want to share is also my favorite! I love the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The description from Good Molecules website says about the serum "Hyaluronic acid binds to moisture and draws it into the skin to maintain a healthy moisture balance and protect from dehydration. The lightweight, water-based formula layers seamlessly under skincare and makeup, making it ideal for daily use." This I can definitely attest to! The dropper makes applying it very easy, and I like how quickly it absorbs into the skin. After 30-40 seconds I can feel that it has been fully absorbed into my skin, but doesn’t feel heavy, sticky, or like it is clogging my pores. Then I can put my moisturizer on right after it. Throughout the day, it feels like the serum is really helping draw in moisture to my skin. I use it every day, and noticed my skin felt really good after the first use. After a month, I have noticed my skin looks smoother. It also feels incredibly hydrated.

The Hyaluronic Acid Serum is vegan, cruelty free, never tested on animals, and fragrance free. These are all things that are very important to me, and something I always look for in skin care products. Especially that they are fragrance free as I am allergic to most fragrances. The ingredients (Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Ethylhexylglycerin) are clearly marked on the website, as well as the packaging, something else I always appreciate. I will not buy a product, let alone put it on my face, unless I know EXACTLY what’s in it. Also at $6 for 30ml/1 oz I think the price is amazing! I found similar products at Sephora ranging in price from $8-70. I don’t mind spending money on my skin/skin care. For me it is an investment. However, if I can get a great product at a better price, I am all for it!

Overall, I found all of the products I received to be vegan, cruelty free, never tested on animals, fragrance free, good quality, contain simple ingredients, and be inexpensive. They also list the PH value of each product, which I found very interesting. I honestly don't know much about this or why it is important, but my curiosity has been peaked! So, you will probably be getting a post about skin PH soon.

Niacinamide Brightening Toner

I do not typically use toner, but I have really enjoyed incorporating the Niacinamide Brightening Toner into my routine! My partner also uses it, although his skin is very oily, it also works for him and it got him to finally STOP USING WITCHHAZEL on his face! (I had shown him allll the evidence as to why he shouldn’t use it, but he was stuck in his ways) Three times a week, after I was my face, I pat the Niacinamide Brightening Toner on my face, before applying the Hyaluronic acid. One of my skin concerns was dullness and large pores. According to Good Molecules, this toner will "promote bright, even skin and less visible pores with this alcohol-free toner from Good Molecules. Niacinamide Brightening Toner is formulated with a soothing blend of brightening ingredients that work to reduce the appearance of dullness, uneven skin tone, and enlarged pores." I have definitely noticed that my skin tone has gotten more even, especially on my cheeks. To me my skin overall does look less dull and the pores on my nose seem to appear smaller.

The Niacinamide Brightening Toner is alcohol free and you get 120 ml for $14. Again, this seems like a good price as similar products from sephora/ ulta cost between $12-80.

Clarity and Cleanse Bar

One product I was a bit skeptical about was the Clarity and Cleanse Bar. I do not like bar soap. I feel like it is a breeding ground for bacteria and whether this is true or not, I just cannot get over it. I know it is better for the environment and everything, but I am sorry I just cannot. The Stone Soap Tray it came with however is ADORABLE! I was planning on just using the soap and dish in our guest room bathroom (and will probably still use the soap tray there) but B ended up really liking the body soap! He said that he has noticed less body acne and that the soap doesn’t leave that foamy residue on his skin like some other bar soap products do. To me, his skin does seem softer!

The Clarity and Cleanse Bar is free of soap, sulfates, and parabens. According to the description "This ultra-gentle, soap-free bar clarifies and detoxifies skin without stripping for a comfortable clean. Made with a pH-balanced blend of cleansing and soothing ingredients, Good Molecules Clarify & Cleanse Bar washes away impurities from face and body to leave skin clear and even—never tight, irritated, or dry.

Formulated without soap or harsh cleansing agents and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive." If you are looking for a soap alternative, I HIGHLY recommend you try this one. I wish this cleanser came in body was form because I would be all over it! At the time I am writing this, the product is sold out. However, they Hydrate and cleanse bar is $8 so I would imagine they are about the same price. The stone tray is $6.

Silicone- Free Priming Moisturizer

My other and unexpected favorite product is the Silicone- Free Priming Moisturizer. I do not wear makeup often, and if I do, I don’t like to wear foundation so I don't really see a point in me using primer. I have also tried other primers that made my skin super dry, and even flake off! But this primer has me wanting to wear makeup again! This primer is meant to "Smooth, hydrate, and prep your skin for makeup with Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer from Good Molecules. Formulated with macadamia seed oil, shea butter, and a naturally derived silicone alternative, this lightweight daily moisturizer works to strengthen, condition, and protect skin from environmental stress—all while creating a smooth, plumped-up canvas for flawless makeup application." To say that I love this primer is an understatement. Does it do all of this? For me, absolutely. My makeup looks flawless when I use it, but most of all my skin feels really good.

I think the fact that the primer is silicone free makes all the difference for me. Because silicone can trap things like dirt, dead skin, and other acne causing particles on our skin, I prefer to skip products with it altogether. Silicone products are also terrible for the environment, as silicone is not biodegradable. (Read more about the harmful effects of silicone here). The hydration comes from the perfect blend of some of my favorite ingredients. The "macadamia seed oil nourishes and promotes skin cell regeneration while shea butter helps soothe and heal skin with antioxidant vitamin E" while the "essential fatty acids from olive oil help protect and strengthen the skin’s barrier function while delivering moisture deep within the skin." No dead flakey skin with this primer!

Makeup isn’t necessarily my thing, I like to focus on the skin care aspect, so that’s why this primer is so great for me. Other primers I have purchased in the past have ranged from $8-40. I have used drug store to more high-end brands, and like I said have never really been all that impressed. The Silicone- Free Priming Moisturizer is $14 for 50ml or $6 for 15ml.

I think it is safe to say I have a new skin care brand I am obsessed with! I will definitely be buying these products for myself when I run out of what I have. I am also very curious about their makeup removing Instant Cleansing Balm and Facial Cleansing Mits as I do not use makeup wipes. They also have a Jade Roller that is calling my name!
