Franklin Park Conservatory & Lunch at RH Rooftop Restaurant

It's a gorgeous early spring day and B and I are celebrating my birthday by taking a self-guided walking tour of Franklin Park Conservatory.

Franklin Park Conservatory was one of my favorite places to visit as a child and I am so excited to be back almost 15 years later.

Walking through these beautiful indoor botanical gardens is like stepping into a world that celebrates nature as essential to the human experience. 13 acres of botanical biomes, lush gardens, rare horticulture, and art exhibitions flow seamlessly together.

As you walk through the gardens, you move between different distinct biomes that each house plants that would naturally live in that environment. From the Himalayan mountains, to the desert, then tropical forests, you will discover so many different and wonderful plant species.

One of my favorite aspects of these gardens is that they boast an extensive collection of glass art works by Dale Chihuly (one of my favorite artists). The setting allows these pieces to come to life and live in harmony among the plants, koi fish, and butterflys.

Ohio's premier botanical gardns date back to 1895 and are 2 miles from downtown Columbus. This place is an incredible wedding or event venue. It would have been on my list of wedding venues if we had gotten married in Ohio instead of on Marco Island.

My husband wanted to keep the same natrual outdoor vibes going so he reserved us a table at RH rooftop resturant, about 15 minutes from the conservatory.

From the moment we walked in, I was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere. The indoor/outdoor breezy rooftop setting, coupled with amazing food and spectacular service, made for a very intimate and romantic lunch. After we went downstairs and did a bit of furniture shopping. It was an exceptionally lovely birthday.

What we ordered:

ARTISANAL PROSCIUTTO Parmigiano Reggiano, Seasonal Fruit, Warm Baguette

ARUGULA Fennel, Grapes, Sunflower Seeds, Parmigiano Reggiano, Citrus Vinaigrette with Salmon

SHAVED RIBEYE ON CHARRED GARLIC BREAD Emmentaler Swiss, Au Jus

Fentimans Rose Lemonade

If you are looking for something fun, relaxing, and educational to do in Columbus, Ohio I highly recommend visiting Franklin Park Conservatory.
