For me going to a gym or any in-person group, classes is out of the question right now. I miss my yoga studio so much, thank god for Zoom classes! At the beginning of quarantine, I was so motivated and was waking up super early to go for a run, do some strengthening and toning, and of course yoga. But it is so hard to stay motivated to work out from home! I know I have been struggling with wanting to do anything other than take long walks and go hiking because, honestly, I'm bored with the same old exercise routines. 99% of the time I turn to one of my favorite platforms, YouTube, for inspiration. But how many times have you started a workout video and thought "wow this is really annoying/stupid/not what I was going for/ not hard enough/etc?" I have a few videos and channels that I have found that haven't gotten stale for me (yet), and I really wanted to share them with you! These are what I use to supplement my yoga practice, but I really think there is something for everyone here. None of them require any additional equipment and are all pretty short. I really hope you like them as much as I do, and they re-motivate you to get your body moving!
Six Pack Abs
This is the video I used to get my core into shape when I was prepping for head and handstands. I did it every day for a week and then every other or third day after that. Definitely saw and felt the results! I love that she gives you the option to modify so you can start off easier if you need to and build your way up. This is a great channel that I use a lot.
Power Vinyasa Flow
I absolutely love this channel! This is one of my go-to yoga classes and has been for years. I pretty much have it memorized now and love that you can add to it or back it down as needed. It's only 20 minutes and just as good as a cup of coffee in the morning!
Toned Arms in 20
Did you know you can use a towel to tone your arms? I didn't until this video! When I started it I was thinking "this is way too easy, I usually use 10lb weights, this isn't going to be enough for me." But by the end, I couldn't even lift my arms! Now I find myself randomly doing the moves anytime I have a towel like after a shower or when I'm folding laundry. You will want to give up with this video but don't! The burn is a good thing I promise. Your arms will thank you.
Legs and Glutes
This video is part of a series but this one is my favorite. The series is great, but this is the video I keep going back to because it includes so many of my favorite poses.
Neck and Shoulder Relief
Time to stretch it out! My shoulders are always so tight and I am always desperately seeking relief. This video is perfect for that. I also really love pretty much everything on this channel. Her voice is so calming and she is so encouraging and positive! This is a great video to wind down with after working all day, especially if you have been on the computer a lot.
30 Min Full Body Flow | Yoga To Stretch, Breathe, & Feel The Bliss
This class makes me feel so peaceful and serene. It is a great one to do as a mid-day reset. I love how my body feels after this flow. It isn't exactly "advanced" by any means but some yoga experience might be good before diving into this one.
I really hope you can incorporate some of these videos into your at-home routine! When it comes to working out, I think variety is a very important factor for staying motivated. I would love to know what you think! Also if you have any suggestions for videos or channels you think I would like, I would love to hear them.
