Classic Quick and Easy Meatballs Two Ways

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Meatballs are such an easy and filling dinner. I have been trying to perfect my recipe for a few years, finally got them just the way I like them, and wanted to share it with you!

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey, beef, or ground plant-based meat alternative 1/4 cup milk Optional half cup mozzarella Egg white from 1 egg 1 cup Italian bread crumbs 2 cloves garlic or 1 tbsp garlic powder Onion powder, Parsley, Oregano, Basil, Red Pepper Flakes to taste (about 1 tsp each) Olive oil spray Spaghetti or Hamburger Buns Pasta sauce

Directions for Meatballs:

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl combine ground meat, bread crumbs, milk, mozzarella cheese, egg white, garlic, onion powder, parsley, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, and mix until combines.

2. Lightly coat large glass pan with olive oil spray. Tightly form the meat into large balls and place onto glass pan.

3. Bake for 30 minutes at 375.

Should yield 8-10 meatballs

Now you can either freeze them or make them into Spaghetti or Meatball sub casserole.

Directions for Classic Spaghetti and Meatballs:

1. Cook spaghetti per instructions on the package. Boil for about 2 minutes less than the recommended time. Strain pasta and set aside.

2. In a large skillet combine pasta sauce, meatballs, and spaghetti. Simmer covered for 5-10 minutes.

If you make your own spaghetti sauce more power to you! But if you want to make the jar sauce taste homemade, just add fresh tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, onion, basil, garlic, and oregano to it and simmer to combine the flavors.

Directions for Meatball Sub Casserole:

1. Lightly grease glass baking pan with olive oil spray. Place hamburger bun bottoms in the glass pan and cover with mozzarella cheese. Place one meatball in each bun and cover generously with spaghetti sauce. Cover with bun tops. Sprinkle more mozzarella cheese on top of the buns.

2. Bake casserole at 375 for about 25 min or until heated through and cheese on top is golden.

Make it a meal! Suggested sides:

Salad

Green Beans with butter, garlic, salt, and pepper

Honey Glazed Carrots
